When is the use of CBD appropriate

Cannabinoids are extracts of hemp and there are several types such as THC or CBD.

CBD is a molecule increasingly popular on the market (especially in the US, in the United States).

To provide users with more comfort in the use and consumption of the CBD-based product, several ways of ingesting it have been invented.

Inhalation by means of electronic cigarettes (vaping), consumption in the form of capsules (as a food supplement) and finally ingestion of CBD in the form of oil.

For which diseases can CBD be useful?

By studying the more than 1500 scientific publications on Cannabidiol listed since the discovery of this cannabinoid by Professor Mechoulam in 1963, we have noticed that about half of these have been done in the last 5 years. This shows the current interest of medical research in this molecule with many interesting properties that we will classify here by disease or physical condition

* Pain and inflammation:

Cannabidiol has good analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties, whether in the form of topical cream or consumed orally:

Cannabidiol (CBD) and its analogues: an examination of their effects against inflammation, a study published in the journal Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry in February 2015.

Cannabidiol, an emerging therapeutic strategy to reduce inflammatory damage. Publication in the journal Free Radical Biology and Medicine in September 2011.

Anti-inflammatory actions of CBD

CBD would also be effective in fighting arthritis pain, according to this study published in October 2015 in the European Journal of Pain.

Anxiety and depression:

CBD is an effective anxiolytic, which helps regulate mood and avoid depressive phases, as shown by these recent studies on this topic:

Cannabidiol rapidly induces an antidepressant effect. Study published in the journal Neuropharmacology in October 2015.

Cannabidiol as a potential treatment for anxiety disorders. Publication in the Journal of the American Society for Experimental NeuroTherapeutics in September 2015.

Antidepressant and anxiolytic effect of Cannabidiol. Study published in CNS & Neurological Disorders in 2014.

Cannabidiol, a component of Cannabis Sativa, as an anxiolytic drug. Publication of the RevistaBrasileira of Psiquiatria in June 2012.

Antidepressant and anxiolytic effects of CBD

Cannabidiol would also be effective in controlling anxiety attacks and panic attacks, as reported in this study published in May 2016 in the journal Current Neuropharmacology.

Epilepsy:

CBD is effective in some patients with severe forms of epilepsy refractory to conventional drugs, especially in children, such as Dravet, West, or Lennox-Gastaut syndromes. We invite you to read our article on the use of cannabis against epilepsy, which includes a lot of information and studies on the subject, one of the most relevant of which is that of Dr.Devinsky published in March 2014 in the journal Epilepsia.

Antipsychotic:

Cannabidiol has important antipsychotic properties, used in particular to fight against schizophrenia:

Can Cannabidiol be used as an alternative to antipsychotics? Publication of the Journal of Psychiatric Research in March 2016.

Systematic review of the antipsychotic properties of Cannabidiol in humans. Publication of the journal Schizophrenia Research in February 2015.

Cannabidiol as a potential treatment for psychoses. Study published in the journal European Neuropsychopharmacology in November 2013.

Critical examination of the antipsychotic effects of Cannabidiol. Publication in the journal Current Pharmaceutical Design in June 2012.

Clinical trials of CBD as an antipsychotic in humans

Nausea and vomiting:

Cannabidiol has antiemetic properties, as shown by this study published in August 2011 in the British Journal of Pharmacology.

CBD is particularly effective in combating nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, according to this study published in December 2010 in the British Journal of Pharmacology.

The use of sublingual CBD oil

The use of CBD oil is the most popular method of consumers. It is both simple and effective.

The dosage is an important component, it can range from 4 to 10% of CBD in sizes of 10 to 30 ml per bottle.

Note that it is possible to increase this concentration dose by adding crystals of CBD.

This dosage depends on each user, the more concentrated it is and the more the body will absorb CBD.

Sublingual ingestion would be more interesting because of its effectiveness and rapidity of effect.

To do so, you must first let a few drops on the tongue, wait a few moments to let the oil spread well and penetrate, then swallow dry!

The use of CBD oil orally

As we explained, CBD oil can be used in different ways, so it can also be ingested orally.

The oral way is an ingenious way to consume this product, it is simply to introduce it into food.

This method is effective, but it is less effective than sublingual.

Indeed, unlike the latter method, oral administration takes much longer to act.

It would take between 30 and 45 minutes to feel the first effects while they would be only a few seconds with sublingual absorption.

In addition, it seems that in order for the effects to be similar, much more CBD must be ingested compared to the sublingual route; which is another disadvantage, the gastric juices diminishing this effect.

In summary, there are two different ways to use CBD oil, each of which may be interesting.

It is important to remember to always respect the recommended doses.

It is also necessary to remember that CBD is not a pharmaceutical product to treat a disease, and that it is necessary to consult a doctor for any question and health problem.

Consuming CBD is forbidden to minors as well as to pregnant women.
